The Archives of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (APPS) is committed to maintaining academic integrity and preventing plagiarism in all forms. As noted on our Editorial Policies, every submission undergoes plagiarism screening prior to peer review.

1) Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Copying text, figures, or data without proper attribution.
  • Paraphrasing without acknowledgment of the original source.
  • Submitting others’ work as one’s own.
  • Self-plagiarism: reusing one’s previously published material without citation.

2) Screening Process

APPS employs plagiarism-detection software (such as iThenticate or Turnitin) for every submission. Manuscripts with overlap above 15% (excluding references and standard phrases) are flagged for editorial investigation.

Authors may be contacted for clarification or revisions if significant overlap is detected.

3) Author Responsibilities

  • Ensure originality and proper attribution of all sources.
  • Provide accurate citations for reproduced data or figures.
  • Disclose any prior publications with overlapping content.

4) Editorial Actions in Case of Plagiarism

  • Minor overlap: Authors are asked to revise and properly attribute content.
  • Major plagiarism: Manuscript rejection before peer review.
  • Post-publication detection: Retraction notice with explanation following COPE guidelines.

5) Compliance with International Standards

This policy is aligned with the COPE Core Practices and ensures adherence to the highest standards of scholarly integrity.
