1) Scope of the Repository Policy

APPS allows authors to self-archive different versions of their manuscripts—preprints, accepted versions, and final published articles—across various repositories. This policy aligns with SHERPA/RoMEO and major indexing requirements.

2) Versions Allowed for Archiving

  • Preprint: Author’s original version may be deposited before peer review.
  • Accepted manuscript (postprint): Peer-reviewed version after revisions but before final typesetting may be deposited.
  • Publisher’s version (PDF): The final published version may be archived immediately under CC BY 4.0 license.

3) Where Authors Can Deposit

  • Institutional repositories (e.g., university libraries).
  • Disciplinary repositories (e.g., PubMed Central, Europe PMC).
  • Public repositories (e.g., Zenodo, Figshare).
  • Personal or departmental websites.

4) Licensing and Attribution

Deposited versions must carry proper attribution to the original publication, including:

  • Author(s) name(s).
  • Article title.
  • Journal name (Archives of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences).
  • DOI link to the official publication.
  • License terms (CC BY 4.0).

5) Compliance with Funder Requirements

APPS repository policy ensures compatibility with mandates from NIH, Wellcome Trust, Horizon Europe, Plan S, and other funding agencies. Authors should check specific funder policies and deposit accordingly.

6) Embargo Period

No embargo period applies under CC BY 4.0 licensing. Authors may deposit their accepted manuscripts or published versions immediately upon acceptance or publication.

7) Benefits of Repository Archiving

  • Enhances visibility and discoverability of research.
  • Improves citation impact.
  • Ensures compliance with institutional and funder mandates.
  • Provides long-term preservation of scholarly work
